Svitavy outrebounded Plzen 54-38 including a 26-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. Svitavy players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Plzen was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. Naturalized Slovakian point guard Roman Marko (192-1986) notched 36 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and the former international guard Pavel Slezak (186-1984) supported him with 25 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Even 30 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) by swingman Filip Novotny (193-2000) did not help to save the game for Plzen . point guard Jiri Paidar (183-2006) added 16 points for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Plzen's coach Jaroslav Lejsek tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game.
